As many of you already know, we gave birth to our beautiful baby boys (Eli Scott and Nolan Robert McIntosh) on December 5th (4 weeks early). Nolan was immediately taken to the NICU with what they thought was underdeveloped lungs but it turned out to be much more serious.
On December 7th, Nolan was transferred to CHOC in Orange where he had his first of two heart surgeries. On December 12th he had his second surgery which was called an Arterial Switch for his condition called “Transposition of the Great Arteries”. His surgery was a success and his recovery was very quick and he was able to come home with us on December 19th. We were very happy to have both our boys home for Christmas. We spent Christmas day with our parents and Brother Ryan and Sister Adelle.
The day after Christmas Nolan seemed to be ‘not himself’ so we took him back to CHOC. They determined that he had developed an intestinal infection called NEC. He will be staying at CHOC for another 1-2 weeks to recover. We thank God for our wonderful, supportive, and generous family and friends who have spoiled us with many gifts and meals throughout this difficult time. Thank you all for your love and support. We feel so blessed.
